Prove your GDPR compliance as a processor

With the first officially accredited data protection certification in accordance with Article 42 GDPR, you finally have the opportunity to transparently communicate your high standards to the outside world.

Minimize your risks

As part of the certification process, your data protection is put through its paces both technically and legally. If optimization potential is identified, you can implement it with confidence. There is also the advantage that certification may have a mitigating effect on the amount of the fine in the event of a data protection breach.

Tap into new markets

More and more companies and government institutions are demanding the highest data protection standards from their business partners and suppliers. With the European data protection seal EuroPriSe, processors can provide transparent proof of their data protection compliance.

Building more trust

The European data protection seal EuroPriSe is internationally recognized. The accreditation by the DAkkS underlines the high standards of the certification. This enables processors to sustainably increase the trust of interested parties and customers. This results in a clear competitive advantage over competitors.

Improving the global level of privacy

The EuroPriSe vision

Initiated by the EU in 2007

The EU Commission launches the project and supports the development with 1.3 million euros in funding. At that time, it was still five years until the first draft of the GDPR. The aim was to create an EU-wide certification mark.

2014 Transition to EuroPriSe GmbH

The transition from a government certification body to a private company formed the basis for further development towards becoming the first company in Germany to offer accredited certification in accordance with Article 42 GDPR.

2022 a key milestone

In October 2022, the EuroPriSe criteria catalog is approved by the responsible supervisory authority. This makes EuroPriSe Cert GmbH, which is now based in Bonn, the first German company to achieve this step.

2023 Starting signal as pioneer

After EuroPriSe Cert became the first company in Germany to receive accreditation as a certification body for privacy certification in accordance with the GDPR in December 2023, the corresponding certificate was also issued by the DAkkS in January 2024.

May 2024: First certification

Only a few months after accreditation as a certification body, EuroPriSe Cert awards RISER ID Services GmbH certification in accordance with Article 42 GDPR for the first time.

July 2024: European data protection seal

A long-awaited goal becomes reality: The European Data Protection Board announces that the EuroPriSe certification is now also recognized throughout the EU and EEA.
